FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Where are you based?
Off the Peg is based in my home studio in the leafy outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Wurundjeri land of the Kulin Nation.
  • Can I customise an order?
Every piece that I make is unique and often made with recycled, repurposed and vintage materials. It is not possible to recreate an exact replica of a sold out item but I am open to discussing options and ideas with you. If you would like to commission a custom order please get in contact. Go to the Contact tab and let me know what you have in mind. Often collaboration leads to wonderful new things.
  • Where do you source your materials?
I use all sorts of materials in my making and art process. I love a good rummage at the Op Shop and often friends and family gift vintage materials to me as they know I'll put things to good use. I try to reuse and repurpose where I can. If I can't find what I need in my stash I will source with a mindful approach. By this I mean, where possible I source environmentally sustainable options for materials and buy from local manufacters. I believe in treating our environment with respect and I believe in supporting Australian made goods and services.
  • How do you make your artworks?
Every item from Off the Peg is made and assembled by hand. I love the process of handmaking - it's mindful, it's meditative, it's so rewarding. Making something from virtually nothing is very empowering. Sometimes I paint, sometimes I sew and embroider. I experiment with new ideas and techniques constantly, learning new things allows my practise to grow.
  • Do you teach workshops?
Yes, I do. Teaching is something that I love but life during a global pandemic has been tumultuous. I've been taking stock of my priorities, my practise and the reasons behind why I came to teach workshops. I love the process of teaching and sharing my skills and knowledge. But for now I've decided to have a little break from teaching and focus on my own making. Hopefully this means there will be many new products listed in this store very soon! And once the dust settles you may just see me on the workshop trail again, so stay tuned.
  • Do you have stock in any brick and mortar stores?
No, at this point I don't. The best way to purchase is via this store. If you are not comfortable with online shopping please don't hesitate to send me an email and we can make an alternate arrangement. If you have a store and would like to discuss becoming a stockist please get in touch. offthepeg.hello@gmail.com
